London designer Ilse Crawford has added to her Billy series of lighting with a floor lamp that rests on a pair of brass feet.

Created for Austrian design company Kalmar Werkstatten, the Billy BL lamp is supported by a slender rosewood stem and features a tapered matt black lampshade with a brass interior.

The material is echoed in the light's V-shaped support, which fans out at the base of the lamp.

The design is part of Crawford's ongoing updates to the brand's Billy lighting range, incorporating new woods and metals.

"The material palette elevates the Billy concept for upscale interiors while preserving the essential humour of the line," explained the brand.

Crawford, who has been named Maison and Objet designer of the year, previously created a table lamp in the Billy range. It similarly used brass and wood as a "subtle, handsome update of a dear old friend".

The London designer has completed several partnerships with brands, including a recent range of cork and natural-fibre homeward products with Ikea.

Both Billy lamps will be shown in September 2016 in the Designer's Studio exhibition at Maison & Objet. Further collaborations with companies including Ikea, TwentyTwentyOne and Wastberg will also be on display in the space.

The venue itself will be designed by Studioilse as a flat-packed and modular structure that can be disassembled and reused. Crawford is planning a space designed to help visitors "relax, collapse, recharge, recap, reconnect, regroup and refresh".

"The space is divided up into zones where families of furniture and lighting have been carefully grouped to encourage and support these activities," Crawford told Dezeen.
