Wüsthof was founded in 1814 and is located in the famous German cutlery manufacturing city of Solingen. It is an internationally renowned brand of top-grade kitchen knives, and has been owned by the Wüsthof family, a giant in the German manufacturing industry, since its establishment in 1814.
What sets Wüsthof apart from other brands is its insistence on positioning itself as a mid-to-high-end brand. All of its products are manufactured in Germany, and it stubbornly adheres to the traditional German business model. It is precisely because of this almost obsessive insistence that Wüsthof has become a leader among many high-quality cutlery brands. Compared to the aggressive promotion and constantly changing marketing strategies of many brand-name knives, Wüsthof remains low-key and steadfast in its positioning as a mid-to-high-end brand.
All of its kitchen knives undergo 40 production processes, from cutting to the final sharpening, completed by over 300 craftsmen and over 100 robots. Before leaving the factory, they undergo multiple precise optical measurements and must pass them all before being released to the market. Wüsthof's knives are made of X50CrMo15v material, which means that the material contains 0.5% carbon, 15% chromium, and a certain proportion of molybdenum. Its biggest advantage is its corrosion resistance and non-rusting properties, with a hardness of around HRC 56-58, ensuring good sharpness.
