On the evening of August 8th, the 31st World University Summer Games came to a successful conclusion in Chengdu, Sichuan. The Chinese delegation won a total of 103 gold medals, 40 silver medals, and 35 bronze medals, ranking first in the medal tally and achieving the best historical results for China's participation in the Universiade.
China, together with the International University Sports Federation and delegations from various countries and regions, made joint efforts to contribute to a sports event with Chinese characteristics, contemporary atmosphere, and youthful charm for the world.
The Hong Kong delegation also sent the largest-ever team of 142 athletes to participate in the 13-day Chengdu World University Games, ultimately achieving a historic record of 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 7 bronze medals. With the assistance of multiple Olympic and Asian Games-level athletes, this year's results equalled the total number of medals won by the Hong Kong team in all previous editions of the Games, creating an unprecedented achievement and injecting confidence into Hong Kong athletes for future competitions.
Two years later, the next Universiade will be held in Germany, a country with numerous sports brands.
