Bottega Veneta has swapped beach bags for beach bats in its latest accessory release. Dubbed the “Frescobol Carioca,” the beach bat set is a luxurious representation of an easygoing game — and, with its beautiful handcrafted nature, it’s just as likely (if not more so) to be used as a high-end accessory.
Each Frescobol Carioca Beach Bat is built by hand in Brazil, and is fully comprised of 100% recycled wood off-cuts. Its beautiful multi-tone wood build features dark-stained stripes both wide and narrow down the center, surrounded by natural edges. Bottega’s signature “Parakeet” green leather makes an appearance as well, of course, wrapped around the handle of each bat for enhanced grip. Last but not least, a small yet noticeable “Bottega Veneta” logo is inscribed near the bottom of the paddle. Each set also comes accompanied by a green shoulder strap and two natural rubber balls, each with custom branding.
If the idea of a four-figure beach bat set makes you blanch, you should know that the Italian-based purveyors of luxury goods are no stranger to other whimsical ideas. This year alone, they’ve released a leather grocery bag that intentionally mimics brown paper shopping bags, a “cone of chips” (or French fry cone, in American parlance) made from Intreccio leather and even the “Helium Lace-Up Shoe,” a derby shoe with a gigantic, clown-like toebox.
The Frescobol Carioca Beach Bats retail for $1,300 USD and are currently available to shop on Bottega Veneta’s webstore.
