Basketball is an instrumental part of the Aimé Leon Dore brand as the sport has been woven into its storytelling and has inspired a plethora of apparel and footwear launches. This past weekend, the New York-based streetwear label hosted its three-on-three Mulberry Classic tournament, and to celebrate the event, it has realigned with New Balance to roll out a fresh batch of 650s.
Serving as a follow-up to its 650 assortment from fall 2022, the two parties have cooked up another trio of the retro basketball silhouette, this time applying a summer-friendly palette to each of them. In a similar fashion to the previous batch, the upper builds of these newest iterations are done up with breathable mesh layers atop the collars, “N” logos and tongues while smooth and perforated leathers sit adjacent. All of these components are done up in white, but they each deviate with black, baby blue and forest green accents along the New Balance-branded collar overlays, interior linings and piping. Woven, co-branded tongue labels feature a floating New Balance logo while the rear branding flexes a tonal variation of Aimé Leon Dore’s signature Sonny basketball insignia. Bottoms are styled with gum exteriors to complete their street-ready looks.
The draw for this new ALD batch is now open here and will close at 11:59pm EDT on June 14.
