Collaborative Brand by a Designer Who Went Viral on Social Media

08/09/2023

Due to the increasing popularity of the internet, more and more social media platforms have incorporated commercial elements, whether through short videos or images. Many brands have started using this online model to enhance their brand visibility. By collaborating with well-known designers, they have significantly elevated their brand's design style and better catered to their young audience's tastes.

Just like the French designer Jean Jullien, who gained immense popularity on Korean internet platforms. Jean Jullien is a French graphic artist living and working in Paris. Jean comes from Nantes and completed his graphic design degree in Camborne before moving to London. He subsequently graduated from Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. His creative range spans from painting and illustration to photography, video, clothing, installations, books, posters, and fashion, creating a coherent yet diverse body of work. In 2016, Jean collaborated with his Korean friend Jae Huh to launch Nounou.

The name "NouNou" is a combination of the French word "nous" (meaning "we" or "us") and "NuNu" (a nickname given by Jae's daughter to Jean's son, Lou). All NouNou products are designed by Jean in France and developed and sold in limited quantities by Jae in Korea.

The brand's design style combines a minimalist and fashionable Korean aesthetic with a touch of British elegance and subtle humor. This Korean brand, which is not typically "Korean," has captured the hearts of many young men and women on social media with its round eyes, big nose, and exaggerated expressions.
