Chitose Abe — the founder and designer of sacai — has launched the 25th issue of her a magazine curated by sacai that features an international series of portrait images as well as an assortment of commissioned projects by chefs, industrial designers, architects, artists, writers and business analysts. And in commemoration of this new release, the Japanese label’s leader has elected to supplement the new magazine with two new graphic tees.
For these new designs, Abe decides to go the minimal branding route and cook up one white offering and one black iteration. The front side of the former is emblazoned with “A magazine curated by” text, the “a” of which arrives in a bold blue hue while the rest of the lettering is devised in tonal fashion. Flip the tee over and you’ll find a tiny “sacai” hit written in black near the neck as well as the Japanese imprint’s moniker spelled out again in reverse fashion. Its stealthy counterpart is designed with even less graphics as the front comes embellished with a bold blue “A” while the backside is styled with the last three letters of “sacai” in a matching hue.
