Sies Marjan debuted for the first time at the 2016 Fall/Winter New York Women's Week, and in just a few years has quickly attracted attention for its unique design style, and is the most dazzling new star of New York Fashion Week in recent years. Sander Lak is originally from the Netherlands and after studying under Louise Wilson at Central Saint Martins in London, he worked at Balmain under Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Christophe Decarnin. After joining Dries Van Noten, he became its chief designer, a position he held for five years. In early 2015, he left Dries Van Noten and moved to New York to launch Sies Marjan, a high-end womenswear brand.
