DS & DURGA was founded in 2008 by David (aka DS) and Kavi (aka Durga) Moltz. They started from scratch and carved their own path (more like Sid than Sinatra). Pioneers of Brooklyn's DIY movement, they set out to translate the things that inspired them into fragrant stories of cowboys, landscapes, and folk songs. Today, attention to detail and the importance of human hands still play a vital role in the brand's evolution. The perfumes are made in New York City, formulated in Brooklyn and bottled in the Bronx. Each fragrance has a playlist, story, photo and movie. DS & DURGA aims to create perfumes that rival the level of great music, painting and literature, and perfume is a world to which you can return again and again - a keyhole to a distant place - matter and imagination. David focused on the fragrance, while Kavi was responsible for the brand vision, and each of them wanted to recreate the scene by combining their favorite music, visited scenes, favorite art, historical images and memories through pure raw materials.
The brand pays attention to the appeal of its online and offline shelves, using clean labels and pleasing fonts on sleek minimalist perfume bottles and whimsical patterns on candles to convey the true spirit of the brand and recreate beautiful scenes through the stimulation of smell.
