The Time Is Now for Embracing a New Natural

13/09/2023

Founded by David Koo in early 2020, in Stockholm, Sweden. A few visionaries kicked off Project Skincare 3.0 as an opportunity to ask questions about what the future of skincare could be. It was not about revolutionising the industry; it was about determining whether it should be changed in the first place.

In our resource-constrained world, we are overdue for a sustainable alternative to natural ingredients. The farming of natural ingredients for use in skincare puts increasing pressure on limited natural resources, with ingredients being pulled from the earth on an industrial scale and leaving a significant carbon footprint behind. Sustainably brewed natural molecules is the answer to the new natural that we need for our skincare essentials.

Brewed bio-based molecules, made with renewable inputs, decrease the need for farming and extraction, all of which have real implications for the planet. It also reduces the carbon footprint of lengthy global supply chains.

The beauty of this new generation of natural ingredients is that they are identical to ingredients found in nature, and typically healthier, while their environmental impact is much lower.

It is the same technology that is driving many sustainability efforts in industries such as food and fashion.
